Scholarships
The Port of Port Manatee Propeller Club works to promote the maritime industry by connecting individuals and organizations through networking events and educational opportunities. A key part of this outreach is provided through the club’s annual scholarship program. The program was developed to service the community by providing scholarship funding to deserving students who will be attending college immediately following their High School graduation.
Eligible applications include graduating Manatee County High School Seniors and High School Seniors outside Manatee County that are sponsored by one of our clubs’ members.
Applications are evaluated based upon the applications academic standing, extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, and financial need. A written essay is required as part of the application process. Although a maritime related degree is not required to apply, extra consideration is given to applicants who are able to articulate a maritime nexus to their chosen degree in their essay.
Applications are taken annually beginning in March with a submission deadline of April 15.
In addition to the high school program the club works closely with local colleges and vocational schools to provide students working toward maritime related programs with scholarship opportunities.
Application Deadline is April 15, 2024!
